Letting AI find the right fit
When reassigning work from one person to another inside the transfer of work drawer, users had to manually scan the entire list of people — checking each individual's role, skills and current availability by hand to judge who could realistically take it on. The process was slow, easy to get wrong, and got harder as teams grew.
What Changed
AI Smart Assign reads the work being transferred and the person it's moving from, then evaluates the wider team against three signals — role, skills and current availability. The best-fit people are ranked and surfaced at the top of the drawer, so users can assign the work directly from the suggestion without leaving the flow. The full list of people remains below for complete control. Built end-to-end across a four-day, AI-themed company hackathon — from brainstorm to shipped feature — the team took first place and went straight to production.
